Dispatch News. ICE murdered Renee Nicole Good, and then Alex J. Pretti. They are also increasing their violence against Minneapolis residents with warrant-less entries. 01.26.26//

A day after Minneapolis residents protested in the thousands, and other major cities and towns joined in to protest I.C.E.'s horrific uptick in violence, and just over two weeks since their agents murdered Renee Nicole Good on January 7th in Minneapolis, ICE agents murdered ICU Nurse Alex J. Pretti Saturday the 24th. In Minneapolis.
Just before 9:00am local time (Minneapolis) on Saturday, reports started to search that there was an ICE involved shooting against a Minneapolis resident.
A Bluesky post from BNO News stated, "BREAKING: Man shot by Border Patrol during operation in Minneapolis, condition unknown."
Within 30 minutes, reports and videos showing ICE agents attacking a civilian, and another person, Alex Pretti, steps in and attempts to grab that person from the fray and remove them. What happens next is now etched in history. As many as eight ICE agents descend on Alex, bringing him to the ground. With his hands on the ground, an agent removes a concealed firearm from Alex's person, and a second later Alex is shot by another agent. His body becomes lifeless on the pavement as TWO agents continue to shoot at his now lifeless body. Legal observers, of which Pretti was one, and other onlookers were recording as the skirmish turned murder ensued. Alex Pretti was pronounced dead at the scene.
Here is what we have learned since his murder:
The incident took place near the intersection of Nicollet Avenue and 26th Street in south Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Alex Pretti was a law abiding citizen with a legally registered firearm and a permit to carry concealed. This came straight from Minneapolis police chief Brian O’Hara, who spoke hours alter during a press conference on the tragedy.
Almost immediately, DHS, the White House, and the Trump regime's mouthpieces began pushing propaganda, saying that the shots were "defensive" and said that the protestors were "rioters".
Border patrol commander Greg Bovino said during a news conference later on yesterday that an officer with eight years of experience at Bovino’s agency was who "shot and murdered Pretti."
These were not protestors. They were legal observers recording and documenting ICE agents in Minneapolis. Legal observers are volunteering and documenting all over the U.S. right now as ICE descends on their hometowns and cities to create chaos and fear.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has staged the state national guard to be ready for an increase in escalation.
A federal judge in Minnesota ruled last Saturday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents violated the Fourth Amendment after they forcibly entered a Minnesota man’s home without a judicial warrant. Here is the link to the court document ruling.
It's important to call out that there is a treasure trove of documented evidence from the scene.
Videos that have now been verified by many news outlets have outlined and shown that Alex Pretti was never an aggressor towards agents or the public, did not unholster his legally obtained and concealed firearm, and that an ICE agent removed that firearm up to a second before he was shot. When that firearm was removed, 7 agents had already descended on Pretti, and he was on the ground on his hands and knees. From video reviewed by Dispatch of these various accounts and news outlets, you can also see that he never reached for his firearm.
WARRANT-LESS:
ICE has been increasing their terrorizing of Minnesota, and the U.S. at large dramatically since the new year. According to Wired A federal judge in Minnesota ruled last Saturday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents violated the Fourth Amendment after they forcibly entered a Minnesota man’s home without a judicial warrant. Here is the link to the court document ruling. According to the document, the ruling by US District Court judge Jeffrey Bryan was that the federal agents directly violated the constitution when they entered the residence without a judged signed warrant, or permission of the residents.
The resident was Garrison Gibson, a 38 years old in the State of Minnesota. According to court documents, Gibson said in a sworn declaration that before coming to the United States, he lived in Liberia. He came to the United States after his family fled Liberia’s civil war when he was six years old.
This isn't the only time this has happened, either. A whistleblower complaint that was filed January 7th shows that Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons authorized ICE agents to " forcibly enter into certain people’s homes without a judicial warrant, consent, or an emergency." The May 12 Memo goes on to say, "the Acting ICE Director authorized ICE Agents to rely on Form I-205 (which is not a judicial warrant) to enter the residence of an alien subject to a final order of deportation, without consent, including by “a necessary and reasonable amount of force.""
According to multiple reports, "American Civil Liberties Union Immigrants’ Rights Project attorney Spencer Amdur said the policy "flatly violates the Fourth Amendment" of the U.S. Constitution, which protects from unreasonable searches and seizures by the government."
Analysis:
The federal agents under the DHS(Dept. of Homeland Security) and ICE(Immigration and Customs Enforcement) have violently sown chaos and dismay in Minneapolis these past few weeks, and across the United States since Trump took over in January of 2025.
Stephen Miller is chief among the reasons why. His racist, ruthless policies that he is feeding the current administration is one of the main drivers of what we see on a daily basis. Miller is instructing President Trump, and by proxy other agency leaders like Sec. of DHS Kristi Noem, Border Patrol's acting commander Gregory Bovino, and others.
Currently, the spending bill that would keep the government open is in peril. Democrats have said that they will not sign the bill to fund the DHS and ICE. According to PBS, "Six of the 12 annual spending bills for the current budget year have been signed into law by President Donald Trump. Six more are awaiting action in the Senate, despite a revolt from House Democrats and mounting calls for Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem's impeachment. If senators fail to act by midnight Friday, funding for Homeland Security and the other agencies covered under the six bills will lapse."
What this means is that the pressure on democrats AND republicans is mounting. If the democrats don't buckle, we could see ICE go without funding.
